Lemar, 10 years     "...The results have been really pleasing. The children grew in confidence, learned to co-operate when creating scenes, and their speech improved in its range and clarity. I have learned new skills as well, and have been using them in my class. The drama club has given our children opportunities which were not open to them before, to express themselves in a positive manner. Our clubs are now over subscribed due to their success and popularity." Ann Pickering - Language Coordinator, Riverside primary, Southwark     "All the children have been very excited every week and have not missed one session! The classes have developed the children's confidence, social skills and team spirit in such an enjoyable way. many children have matured in their attitude in such a short time. The main aim of the sessions was to support the children in their transition to year 4 as part of the boroughs reorganisation process. Bigfoot have certainly helped us do just that. The children are now looking forward to dance and music sessions with Bigfoot next term" Alex Ribeyro, Learning Support Coordinator, Merton Abbey Primary

Organic Theatre

ORGANIC THEATRE

Organic Theatre is the core process Bigfoot uses in its work. Instead of our young actors working from someone elses script, we encourage our students to create their own stories and characters, write their own scripts, choreograph their own movement pieces, write their own lyrics and compose their own songs with the guidance of our specialist theatre professionals.

Why?

Because theatre is all about story telling and drama is all about exploring your own creativity, so why not tell your own stories becasue these are far more powerful, interesting and truthful!

Our process encourages group debate, teamwork and a real exploration of theatre and creativity.

We believe that Organic Theatre is 'real' actors training for young people following a process which is fun, inclusive, challenging and rewarding.
